Naruto: Steve Aoki and Masashi Kishimoto Announce Limited Apparel Collection

DJ Steve Aoki and artist Masashi Kishimoto have announced a limited edition Naruto apparel collection to celebrate the manga’s 20th anniversary.

Naruto Shippuden is one of the most popular animes out there and has its roots in the 1999 manga Naruto[1], written and illustrated by Masashi Kishimoto, which ran until 2014. The manga has sold more than 250 million copies worldwide and has won awards for its telling of the titular young ninja and his growth.

In celebration of the manga’s 20th anniversary, DJ Steve Aoki and Kishimoto, through DIM MAK and Viz Media, respectively, have announced a limited edition Naruto apparel collection featuring several pieces of artwork and familiar mottos.

Aoki explained that the overall message of Naruto has impacted him and his business greatly. He stated, “I have always been inherently drawn to manga because I saw myself in them. Now, I want to bridge my Japanese heritage and American upbringing in as many projects as possible.”

While the collection was originally planned for release at San Diego Comic Con, the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic forced a change of plans. The NARUTO x DIM MAK collection is  now available for purchase exclusively through DIM MAK[3].
